Crosscut Power Saws from Original Saw Company are designed to deliver safe, efficient, and precise crosscuts, making them an essential tool for a variety of cutting needs. Manufactured in our Northern Iowa facility, these saws are built to handle wood, wood products, composite materials, and plastics with ease, offering crosscutting capabilities of up to 18 inches.
Safety and efficiency are at the core of our design. All cutting is performed inside a fully enclosed cutting box, protected by a durable Lexan polycarbonate top, ensuring operators stay shielded from debris and the blade. The built-in dust collection system enhances both safety and cleanliness by pulling sawdust into the machine during operation and expelling it through the dust port at the back of the frame.
This innovative combination of precision cutting, operator safety, and workspace efficiency makes Crosscut Power Saws an ideal solution for industrial and professional settings. Whether you’re working with wood or composite materials, these saws deliver reliable, high-quality results every time. Explore the superior design and craftsmanship of our Crosscut Power Saws today.

The Crosscut Power Saw features a fully enclosed cutting surface that prioritizes operator safety and cutting precision.
This advanced enclosure design significantly enhances safety compared to other saws, making it ideal for demanding industrial environments.
Safety is a top priority, and the Crosscut Power Saw includes a locking Emergency Stop (E-Stop) button located on the front panel for quick access. With a single press, the operator can quickly stop the machine, preventing accidents and reducing the risk of injury. This safety feature is essential for maintaining control during high-speed cutting operations.
The durable steel frame of the Crosscut Power Saw is built for longevity with a powder coat finish to withstand heavy use in industrial settings.
The sturdy design ensures the saw maintains its precision and stability, even during continuous use.
The Crosscut Power Saw is powered by totally enclosed, fan-cooled (TEFC) motors that are specifically manufactured at our factory in Iowa. These motors are designed to keep dust and debris out, protecting internal components for longer life and reliable operation.
Built to handle challenging materials with ease, these motors deliver the power and performance needed for industrial-grade cutting. By manufacturing the motors in-house, Original Saw Company ensures the highest quality and consistency for demanding applications.
The Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) enhances the saw’s efficiency by controlling the arbor motor’s startup and operation. This system gradually increases the blade speed over 8 seconds, providing a smoother, slower startup that reduces wear on the motor and blade.
With the VFD, operators appreciate improved control over the cutting process, resulting in more consistent performance and reduced downtime for maintenance.
The laser-guided blade path provides a clear, visible line to show exactly where the blade will cut before starting. This feature improves cutting accuracy and reduces errors, helping operators achieve precise results on every cut.
The laser guide is especially useful for projects requiring tight tolerances and ensures consistent, professional-quality finishes.
Crosscut Power Saws share several key features across all models, making them ideal for industrial and professional cutting applications. All models include an enclosed cutting surface, integrated dust collection, and a Lexan polycarbonate top for operator protection. Equipped with powerful motors and precision features like laser-guided blade paths, they deliver reliable performance for demanding environments.
These versatile saws are specifically designed for accurate and safe crosscutting, handling materials like wood, wood products, composite materials, and plastics with ease. While they excel at straight crosscuts, they are not intended for rip cuts or angled cuts.

The Manual Crosscut Power Saw is operated directly by the user, offering precision and control during cutting tasks.
To use the saw:
This straightforward design ensures safe, accurate, and efficient operation for all cutting needs.
The Semi-Automatic Crosscut Power Saw streamlines the cutting process with a semi-automatic cycle, making it easy and efficient to use.
How It Works:
This user-friendly design ensures accurate cuts while enhancing efficiency and safety during operation.
The main difference between a Manual and Semi-Automatic Crosscut Power Saw is how the operator controls the cutting.
When using the manual saw, the operator pulls the handle to move the blade and make the cut. Once done, the carriage returns to its starting position automatically. This pull handle gives the user control but requires more physical effort.
The semi-automatic saw is easier to use. After clamping the material, the operator presses a button, and the saw moves forward, cuts, and returns on its own. This setup is more efficient for repeated cuts.
A Crosscut Power Saw and an Upcut Saw differ in their cutting motion and application.
A Crosscut Power Saw moves the blade horizontally across the material to make precise cuts. This type of saw is ideal for cutting long pieces of wood, especially when you need straight, repeatable cuts. You can cut material one piece at a time or stack it for multiple-piece cutting applications. Woodworkers, lumber mills, and big-box retail stores commonly use Crosscut Power Saws for tasks like crosscutting and trimming large pieces of material. A Crosscut Power Saw typically makes a cleaner cut, depending on the application.
An Upcut Saw operates differently. The blade cuts from below and pushes upwards through the material. Operators often use Upcut Saws to cut smaller materials.
A Crosscut Power Saw is better for larger, horizontal cuts across long materials, while an Upcut Saw is suited for quick vertical cuts.
A Crosscut Power Saw can cut various materials, including wood, composite material, and plastic.
Businesses like woodworking shops, lumberyards, furniture manufacturers, pallet shops, big box retail stores, packaging companies, door and window manufacturers, and construction companies use Crosscut Power Saws.
