Description

16″ Manual Crosscut Power Saw (3 Phase with 18″ Crosscut)

Original Saw Company designed the 16″ Manual Crosscut Power Saw with a 3-phase motor for heavy-duty industrial and woodworking applications. Combining precision, safety, and efficiency, this saw is an indispensable tool for professionals. With its powerful 5 HP motor, 18″ crosscut capacity, and 4 ¼” depth of cut, the 16″ Crosscut Power Saw handles a wide range of materials, including wood, composites, and plastics. Built for reliability and repeated crosscutting, this saw provides consistent, accurate results in demanding production environments.

Key Features of the 16″ Manual Crosscut Power Saw

Powerful 3 Phase Motor with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)

This saw features a robust 5 HP TEFC (totally enclosed fan-cooled) motor. The variable frequency drive (VFD) provides smooth start-ups, precise blade control, and enhanced motor longevity. It eliminates the need for a mechanical brake, reduces start-up amps, and extends the motor’s service life.

Ease of Use and Operator Control

The 16″ Manual Crosscut Power Saw is designed for simplicity and precision, making it easy for operators to safely execute clean, repeatable cuts. The pull-handle mechanism provides intuitive control, allowing the operator to guide the blade through the material easily.

  • Step-by-Step Cutting Process:
    1. Pull the Handle Forward: The operator grabs the handle on the right side of the machine. As the handle is pulled forward, the blade becomes visible under the Lexan Polycarbonate top.
    2. Guide the Carriage: The carriage moves radially forward along a heavy fabricated steel beam, pulling the blade through the material for an accurate cut.
    3. Automatic Return: Once the cut is complete, the operator releases the handle, and the carriage returns automatically to its home position under the machine cover.

Enhanced Safety Design

The fully enclosed Lexan Polycarbonate cutting area provides maximum operator safety while maintaining visibility during operation. Additional safety features include an integrated E-Stop, a Start/Stop station, and a dust collection system.

Durable Construction for Demanding Environments

Weighing over 800 pounds, the saw’s industrial-grade, powder-coated steel frame provides unmatched stability and durability for professional use.

Integrated Dust Collection System

Sawdust is efficiently collected during operation and expelled through a rear dust port, making a cleaner and safer workspace.

Versatile Cutting Capabilities

  • Crosscut Capacity: 18 inches
  • Depth of Cut: 4 ¼ inches in a single pass
  • Materials: Easily cuts wood, wood products, composite materials, and plastics. Operators can cut single pieces or stack multiple pieces to boost production rates.

Clamping Options

While manual clamping is standard, the Crosscut Power Saw can be upgraded with pneumatic clamping for faster, hands-free material handling. This upgrade is ideal for high-production environments or when working with irregularly shaped materials.

Blade Compatibility

  • 16″ General Purpose Blade (40 teeth): For versatile cuts.
  • 16″ Fine Crosscutting Blade (60 teeth): For detailed, smooth finishes.

Blades are sold separately and should be selected based on the material being cut.

Recommended Accessories for the 16″ Manual Crosscut Power Saw

Saw Flat Extension Tables:

Enhance safety and stability by adding Saw Flat Extension Tables to the infeed and outfeed sides. Since the saw features an enclosed cutting surface with no exposed table, these extension tables provide the necessary support for handling materials efficiently. Saw Extension Tables are highly recommended when operating this saw model.

Saw Measuring Systems:

Achieve even greater accuracy with optional Saw Measuring Systems. Operators can choose between Fixed Foot or Flip Foot options to suit their cutting needs.

  • Flip Foot Measuring Systems: Ideal for cutting smaller materials, especially those under 4 feet long. The Flip Foot option allows easier access to retrieve smaller pieces from the enclosed cutting area.
  • Fixed Foot Measuring Systems: Best for larger, repeatable cuts that require a consistent stop position.

Why Choose the 16″ Manual Crosscut Power Saw?

Perfect for Repeated Crosscuts

This saw is designed for production environments and provides reliable, consistent results, even during high-volume cutting.

Ideal for Professional Applications

The 16″ Crosscut Power Saw is suited for industries like pallet shops, lumber yards, schools, and big-box retailers. Its industrial-grade features and powerful motor make it a trusted solution for demanding tasks.
