Description

Featuring a 5 horsepower 3 phase motor, the 16” Semi-Automatic Crosscut Power Saw offers a new style of cutting.

This saw undeniably brings together efficiency, precision, and safety. Featuring an enclosed cutting area, this saw specifically provides the cutting safety you’ve been looking for. Make repeatable, straight cuts for years to come.

The model 3720.S is a semi-automatic saw, able to cut 4 ¼ ” deep in a single pass and has an 18” crosscut capability.

Weighing in at 800 pounds, this substantial saw is made for the rigors of everyday use. The Crosscut Power Saw is well suited for use in pallet shops, lumber yards, schools, big box stores, and many more industries.

Do you have the capability to run 3 phase power at your location? If so, this is the model you want. 3 phase power creates a smoother motor start-up. With no relays or capacitors inside the motor, there tends to be less maintenance and longer service life.

Semi-Automatic Crosscut Power Saws are easy to operate. First, slide the material into the side of the saw and under the Lexan top. Secondly, clamp it into place using manual or pneumatic clamps. Next, merely push the button to activate the cycle. The carriage moves radially forward and cuts the material. In these models, the carriage stroke is controlled by the adjustable stops on the right side of the machine. Lastly, the carriage returns to its home position under the machine’s cover.

We proudly manufacture woodworking machinery in our Northern Iowa facility. Original Saw Company’s Semi-Automatic Crosscut Power Saw is made with a powder-coated, heavy steel frame. With a TEFC (totally enclosed fan cooled) motor and internal automatic brake, this crosscut saw has the best cut quality in its class. This Crosscut Power Saw utilizes a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) to control the arbor motor. Using the VFD increases the speed of the blade by over 8 seconds. Because of the VFD, this saw has a slower, smoother start-up.

Most importantly, safety features.

  • The Lexan Polycarbonate enclosed cutting area covers the top of the saw and makes a totally enclosed cutting space. Unlike other saws, the operator is unable to get a hand near the blade. Cutting safety is markedly increased due to the enclosed cutting area.
  • While the saw is in operation, the machine pulls the sawdust back into the machine and the dust port removes the dust on the backside of the frame.
  • The Semi-Automatic Crosscut Power Saw features a push-button on the front of the machine. The controls are easily accessible and housed on the front panel of the machine.
  • Simply clamp the material either manually or pneumatically and push the button. The blade travels forward under the enclosed Lexan top to cut the material.
  • The adjustable stops on the right side of the machine control the carriage stroke. Because of the stops, the blade doesn’t travel farther than needed. Consequently, this time-saving feature can increase your production and efficiency.

A Crosscut Power Saw can easily cut through wood and wood products, composite material, and plastic.

  • Material can be cut one piece at a time.
  • Materials can also be stacked to cut multiple pieces at once. Cutting several pieces at once can undoubtedly improve your production rate.

Compatible Saw Accessories

Saw Flat Extension Tables

It is highly recommended to use Saw Flat Extension Tables on the infeed and outfeed sides when using a Crosscut Power Saw. There is no exposed table on the saw because of the enclosed cutting surface. The Flat Tables will provide stability and safety when running material through the Crosscut Power Saw.

Saw Measuring Systems

When choosing Saw Measuring Systems for the Crosscut Power Saw, the Fixed Foot or Flip Foot options can be used.

It is recommended to use a Flip Foot when cutting material that is smaller than 4’, do not use the 4’ Fixed Foot Measuring System. (Saw Measuring System with Fixed Foot – 4′ long, left side mount or Saw Measuring System with Fixed Foot – 4′ long, right side mount). When the material is under 4’, it is difficult to retrieve it from the enclosed cutting area.
