About Customs, Duties & Taxes

The recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country. Orders shipped outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and fees levied by the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches the recipient’s country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be fulfilled by the recipient; Original Saw Company has no control over these charges, nor can predict what they may be.

Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for more information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.

International Shipping Limitations

For products shipped internationally, product manuals, instructions, and safety warnings may not be in destination country languages; the products (and accompanying materials) may not be designed in accordance with destination country standards, specifications, and labeling requirements; and the products may not conform to destination country voltage and other electrical standards (requiring use of an adapter or converter if appropriate). You are responsible for assuring that the product can be lawfully imported to the destination country. When ordering from Original Saw Company, the recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country.

International Shipping Privacy

Your privacy is important to us, and we know that you care about how information about your order is used and shared. We would like our international customers and customers shipping products internationally to be aware that cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs and/or postal authorities.

Also, we may provide certain order, shipment, and product information, such as titles, to our international carriers. The carriers may communicate such information to customs and/or postal authorities to facilitate customs clearance and comply with local laws.

Shipping Claims & Freight Damage

We want your product to arrive in excellent condition. Because freight shipments change possession once they leave our facility, it is essential that you inspect your order carefully upon delivery.

  • Inspect before signing. Examine the skid, packaging, and product for visible damage before you sign the delivery receipt (Bill of Lading).
  • Note damage in writing. If any damage is visible, clearly write “Damaged” or “Subject to Inspection” on the delivery ticket before signing. This is required for a freight claim to be filed.
  • Take photos. Document all visible damage to the packaging, skid, and product immediately.
  • Keep packaging. Do not discard any boxes, pallets, or materials until the carrier has completed an inspection.
  • Report damage. Contact Original Saw Customer Service at 800-733-4063 and notify the freight carrier as soon as possible with details and photos.

Failure to note damage at delivery may limit our ability to assist with freight claims.
